thinner works very well to clean weatherstripping and any other rubber parts
on a car.
The only true way to preserve weatherstripping and other
rubber is to keep it out of the sun. I think Armor All and some other
products may advertise "UV Protection" or somesuch, but I'm not convinced they
really work very well.
