Thx Dave, I just looked it up at Standard and it
definately the wrong one. Mine has an "L" bracket that is machine stamped to the
dashpot it self and takes 2 screws to fasten it to the carb body. This is an AFB
Carter carb #4412S.

I'm looking for the part
number of the dashpot used to
slow the throttle closing on our '56 C-73.
The parts book I have lists it in section 14-50-35, but when I turn
to that section it is missing in my book.. Hi
Gary,
According to my 1955-58 Parts Catalog (published Nov. 10,
1958, "Supersedes May 12, 1958"), the original carburetor was stamped
2314S (part number 1637 365). The Dash Pot number for this
carburetor is 1538 426 (shown on page 14-38 in section 14-50-25).
I
see 1538 426 listed with several other carburetors, so it's not specific
ONLY to your car, which *should* make it a little (?) easier to
find. Should. LOL!
If there's a part number shown on
the Dash Pot that you have, I'll be glad to cross reference it for
you.
Hope this helps!
Elijah
