Re: IML: I'll do it myself

If you are the newbie you say you are, please please please DO NOT attempt a carb replacement without adult supervision.  Been there, done that, survived to tell the tale but you may not be so lucky.  Gasoline is highly flammable.  An engine fire will ruin your whole day, not to mention what it will do to your pocketbook and your hairline.  Then there are vacuum leaks, throttles stuck wide open, ghosties, ghoulies, long leggity beasties and things that go bump! in the night.  You will go bump! when you stall out for no apparent reason and lose power brakes and power steering on the freeway or, God forbid, as you approach a little old lady pushing a stroller in a pedestrian crosswalk.

If you ignore my advice, you must promise not to allow any passengers in your car for at least the first thousand miles of driving and only drive between the hours of 2 and 3 a.m. when nobody else is on the road.

Ask around at your local Mopar club and see if there is a kind soul who will prevent you from hurting yourself, your loved ones and/or complete strangers.

Happy motoring,
