If you elect to go for a rebuild be careful.  While a regular 904 will bolt 
up to your car, you want the low first gearset model. I believe that is what 
specified 998 or 999.  I don't think the 80's Imps had 904s, but they are 
basically the same thing.  IF you end up with a regular LA904 and your 
current 2.24 rear gear your car will be extremely sluggish.
