Re: IML: 73 Fuel Pump replacement

There is a threaded plug that is set into the block.
Removing the plug would allow a loose rod to drop down
and out into your hand or onto the ground.

I removed this plug when the pump was off and used a
screwdriver to push the rod back up so that it was
contacting the cam and out of the way of the fuel pump
actuating arm. I can't recall, but I think I smeared
sticky grease or something to hold it up in there
while inserting the pump, or used the screwdriver to
hold it up while I inserted the pump with its arm.
