Re: IML: Mopar transmission Oil vs.Dexron III ?

One coment , on changing atf fluids: After changing fluid,in some of my,(and friends) transmissions they began to have shift delays, up-shift slipage , and at some point had to be serviced. This was typictly high mileage, older vehicles. My theory is: the trans. has acumilated sediments, that help seal surfaces, and seal rings against oil pressure loss.Fresh ATF, is high in detergents, which scrub-out the sediments, and then lead to pressure drops, and failure.I have had, and still drive many cars, and trucks with 120-340 k miles, no trans. repairs. (And no changing fluid) just top-offs.If it's pink-red, smells good, and no varnish on the stick, I drive'm to hell, and back. Thanks, Dave.

Dexron III vs. Mopar transmission fluid ? Will Dexron not work as well and will it decrease the live expectancy of the tranny? Also, can I mixed them? I'm referring to topping it off with Dexron III. I'm under the impression that Dextron III has the same specs of Mopar transmission fluid.
