Hey Guys: Good News - The site knows about Blade Runner's Imperial (196o sure was a good choice!) and we already have full-motion clips posted. See SCREEN STARS on the front page of the website for many more. Bad News - We don't have anybody helping with that area and I've been saving every message that the website has gotten pointing out other (sometimes really obscure) movies that Imperials star in. They languish as we speak, and we need someone to procure the movies (rent?), grab the clips, and help us post them. YouTube is fine and dandy, but we aspire to have our own archives, so need help on this. Want to help out? Anyone? Chris? --- We need HELP. The place is called imperialclub. the word CLUB has lots behind it, but most of what's going on here is being carried by a crew of fewer than 15 people. http://imperialclub.com/OIC-specific/TeamOfVolunteers/index.htm Note that there is a "volunteer now" button at the bottom! You, dear reader, are a tremendous, untapped, potential resource. Do you have anything Imperial related that isn't on the website? Can we borrow it to scan it or show you how to scan it??? It'd be nice, easy payback for whatever you're getting from us here! No 1927 Service Manual under your pillow? -There are other areas that are EASY to help with that don't require anything but some time: Do you have a car that isn't in the registry? http://imperialclub.com/registry/index.htm Are you listed on the Imperial Highway? http://imperialclub.com/OIC-specific/map.htm Do you own an Imperial? Do you like it? Don't keep the good news to yourself! Take a bunch of photos of it next to a local landmark (your driveway is BORING), keeping the car facing the sun, write down who/how/what/where/when about how it came into your hands and what's happened since, and let us share your good fortune with the rest of the club. What can beat getting a free web page for the Imp? Ratty car? Fine! Everyone else has been there (or still is!) Share it and send update photos later! Extra points will be awarded for shots containing visible duct tape or foreign car parts. You can see what others have in the AUTOBIOGRAPHY page on each yearly page. Interesting stuff!!! Here are examples - one from each era: http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1930/30L80/index.htm http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1935/35Ebay/index.htm http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1938/38Ebay/index.htm http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1947/47Limo/index.htm http://www.dte.net/57imperial/50saga/index.htm http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1956/56TimHulse2/index.htm http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1957/BoydKooij/index.htm http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1963/Watkins/ http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1966/larry.htm http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1968/HerbJohnson/index.htm http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1973/Smith/index.htm http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1975/MikeWagon/index.htm http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1978/TallTom/ http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1981/Factory/FrankSinatra/Convertible/ http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1991/91Whitney/index.htm Participation in the IML can be spirited at times, yet we get almost NO input for the club website from folks here - Lurking OR Active. Been there, even? Check out the regularly updated WHATS NEW button at the bottom of the front page for a nice cross section: http://imperialclub.com/new.htm Are you in listed in the Pantheon of Heroes? http://imperialclub.com/OIC-specific/donors.htm This is a CLUB. Please think about peeling some of the time spent on the IML off and into one of the above areas - we can't do this nearly as well without you. ----------------- http://www.imperialclub.com ----------------- This message was sent to you by the Imperial Mailing List.
