I agree with Kenyon.  I have a high-speed ND starter on my '71 Imperial, but this engine was rebuilt with higher compression than stock, so I like the fast spin of the ND starter.

But it most certainly does NOT sound like an Imperial gear reduction starter.  I have original style starters on my '65 and '70 Imperials, and the both sound like Imperials (and Chryslers) did when I was a kid.  :o)
