IML: '61 Conv. hydraulic fluid

I would like to test the hydraulics in my '61
convertible. I'm sure it has'nt been used in decades.
(1) What type of fluid does it use? (2) Anything I
should do before hitting the switch to see if anything
happens? (the cylinder rods are extended)
