I am not familiar with this particular application, but I have dealt with other similar devices. In tow cases, the attempt was actually for gear reduction and the other was a manual overdrive. The gear reduction devices were in my Honda Trail 90 and VW transporter gear reduction kits I used on a VW Baja Kit. The Trail 90 was a full 100% reduction and the VW took it from 4:11 to 6:11 ratio. The manual overdrive was in a 51 Hudson which I wish I still owned. The Hudson was a three speed stick shift, and like the Honda Trail 90 you had another gear for each of the three making the Hudson a six speed. The Hudson was nearly as large as my 68 Crown and managed 24 mph while using all three overdrive gears.

I don't have one but the reading is very detailed on
the gearvendors website.  The main place that I see a
benefit is in gas mileage and top-end speed (if that's
of value to the prospective purchaser).

You asked a good question: do we have any members with
one on their car?  What do you think now that you're
there?
