My guess is that they want to asses a fee
based on the weight of the vehicle. The more it weighs, the more they charge.
And seeing as they have no idea what it really weighs, you could probably tell
them anything and they’d have no way to argue it. So tell them it weighs
150 lbs. J

Subject: IML: curb weight of '68
Crown four door hardtop
The ever-greater-taxing authorities of the Peeples Republik of Washington have tossed
us another fee, this time on weight of our vehicles, in addition to all the
other fees and charges. The notice I received requires that I provide them with
the weight of my 1968 Crown. They say they do not have this info on file in
their title dept - something I have a bit of a problem believing, as it's on
every other title I've ever had issued in Washington!
My owners manual does not reveal this number. Short of taking Lucille up to the
rock quarry and running her across the certified scale - can anyone tell me
what my darling behemoth weighs?
