Ron, Your 65 has a cable shifted transmission. One cable operates R, N, D, 2, & 1 and a second cable engages/disengages the park pawl. You do NOT have to drop the pan to make this adjustment. You loosen the clamp nut on the park cable housing (at the transmission tail shaft), pull outward lightly on the park cable sheath, and then tighten the clamp nut. Here's a shot of the park cable housing on my 65 Dodge Monaco. http://bos-engel.com/cbody/rearmount.jpg Pete in PA From: "Ron Jenesky" <rjjns@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: IML: trans Date: Tue, 11 Apr 2006 07:19:35 -0400 Reply-To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx i had my trans rebuilt in my 65 imperial. now sometimes it does not go in to park all the way. somebody told me that you have to take the pan down to adjust it. is this true and how is it done? ----------------- http://www.imperialclub.com ----------------- This message was sent to you by the Imperial Mailing List.
