Jeff,
I would definitely take a good hard look at the distributor.
But I would also look at the fuel system from the tank forward. You may have
crud in the system that is causing partial fuel starvation. Also check your fuel
pump pressure. What you may be experiencing is a combination of items going
on. Any play in the distributor should be real easy to spot. Keep pluging
away at it you'll lick it.Good luck.
