The compound curve windshield lasted from 1957 through 1966 (NAGS W65). It was used on all 1957 through 1963 Imperials and then on 1964-66 Imperial. THe non-convertible 1964-66 models used the flatter glass (NAGS W648). But they will interchange as both are 26"x78" in size. As someone else stated, the Imperial windshield was unique to the Imperial. The 1957-59 Chrysler/DeSoto/Dodge/Plymouth sedan glass was 24"74" while the hardtops were 28"x76". Also, if you look at the cowl of the 1957-66 Imperial and compare it with the Chrysler of the same era, note that the Impeial has a slight sweep up ftom the base of the windshield. The Chrysler is flat. The Imperrial cowl was the speedboat influence in Exner's styling. I'm not sure about 1963 but as they are very close overall in style to the '61-'62, I would imagine so. And I do seem to recall noticing the compound windshield on a '63 Crown I stopped to look at locally two years ago. The glass still fits in the frame the same, but a ruler laid on the glass right up the middle will lie flat on newer ones, where there was a distinct, rounded, roll-back to meet the roof on earlier ones. A subtle difference, perhaps (and so thought Chrysler's accountants); but I really prefer the additional depth and fullness of the compound curved original. jc *** Jenifer and others The windshield is switchable from any 1957 Imperial to any 1966 Imperial. If you think that you can defie all. don't eventry. The windshields from chrysler's are smaller and do not fit the Imperials from the subject matter.
