When I take possession of the 63 convertible I am
purchasing I will list it in the registry. I checked before and I believe
there are 17 cars presently registered. It would be interesting to know
how many survived.
When I was a kid my parents had one. It is my
understanding the car ended up in a junk yard. (that is one less).

RARE
I'm from Chicago, Ill and in 2005 I found a 1966 Imperial
convertible in a garage in my neighborhood that had not been started since
1981. I knew the owner and after some discussion was able to
obtain the car. Since that time I have replaced the gas tank, fuel
lines, brake lines, winshield, side window, main support bearing (thank you
Lowell Howe) and am now in the process of having the electric
window motors rebuilt. I was able to salvage the hydrolics for
the top. The car runs very well. The color
is triple black. I even have the window sticker from the dealer and
the orignal convertible parade boots. This is one of 514 convertibles
built that year. I'm proud to own such a rare automobile. I
have no idea how many are still out there but I feel that i have saved a bit
of automotive history and have had fun doing it.

I've
seen a fair number of 63's over the years. I'm betting the number is at
least 50 left. The least rare of all has to be the 67. It seems as
though nearly all of those are still out there. John -----
