RE: IML:1942 Chrysler Windsor Grill trim

Guys I know, I know, but be generous with me I do own 3 Imperials . Does any one have the largest piece of front grill trim for a 42 Windsor ? , its a long piece that goes from the centre of the grill to nearly the front door wrapping right around the fender and on towards the frontdoor .
Its a stainless steel piece. David Munson

Does the engine number agree with the title? On the flathead engines, the
number is on the block, left side near the front of the engine.

Does that explain why the number on the title for our 53 Chrysler is not the
same as the number on the plate on the firewall(I believe)??? Are we saying
that the engine number or a number on the frame is the VIN number that shows
on the title???

We have not tried to register the car yet but have done one of those out of
state Bill of Sale things to get the title number to agree with the tag. It
would be much easier if there was a number somewhere else on the car that
agreed with the title number.

Hope this helps to solve the mystery.

Thanks, Henry

These older cars were identified by the engine number.
