Yes, these cars were aimed at the very top of the prestige and luxury
market. If you compare the price to that of a Cadillac ElDorado, you will
be shocked to find that the 81-83 Imperial was a MUCH more expensive car!
The difference is hard to explain, unless you happen to have owned both
(which I did). The Eldo is long gone, but the 81 Imp will be around as long
as I can drive. It is by far the most comfortable long distance tour car I
have ever owned.

I think that the Sinatra editions were aimed at people who might be a
potential Lincoln buyer. Lincoln has attached several big names to their
cars such as Cartier, Bill Blass, Eddie Bauer, Givenchy, Emlio Pucci to name
some. I think this was Chryslers way to attrach buyers of designer cars to
their market as well as use it as a sales pitch. I do think these cars will
be worth something someday in any form, because they don't look like
anything else, like my 58 Buick.

Thanks for that Dick. I am a firm believer that the quality built into my 81
Imperial is seriously lacking in the new Daimler/Chrylser vehicles. If they
Have to make issue out of it on their TV commercials then there is a
Problem. I could expand on this with examples but won't go there. The
Styling of the new real wheel drive cars does nothing for me. So if anyone
Wants to discount a FS or any other rwd Imperial lets see what the people
Are crowding around at the car shows. It won't be a four door Dodge charger.
And I'd love to have an Aspen RT or a Volare Roadrunner!
