IML: Weird Color scheme

Hello,
    I don't have any pictures yet, but I bought a rough 82 Imperial that has
a unique color scheme.  Its black for the most part except for a little band
that runs along the front and up on the hood, it also runs down the top part
of the fenders all the way to the back quarter and shoots up and around the
back window.  The people claim that it is original and from the perfect
pinstriping I would say it is.  Has anybody else seen anything like this?
