RE: IML: 1959-history.

This indicates the car was registered in California at least as far back as
1963, as the "GXU" was part of the original grouping of license numbers
issued with the new black plates in 1963.  Apparently it was still
registered here up through 1989.    John Schleifer Inc. was a
Chrysler/Imperial dealer in Huntington Park for many years.   If the car has
no dealer decal or dealer script badge on the trunk, and no rust showing
anywhere in the usual places (floor, trunk, around the fender edges), it was
very likely here in Southern California most if not all of its life.
Unfortunately, the California DMV only keeps records available back about 5
years, so unless you have a friend in the CIA, I don't think you can get any
more information from them.

Look inside the car, under the seats etc., perhaps you can find an old
receipt or credit card slip which will show a previous owner's name or
address.
