The story goes that Chrysler originally wanted to call their new 1960 compact the Falcon, but Ford had already decided to use that name for its compact. As a result, Chrysler chose another name - Valiant. Granted, Chrysler did use the Falcon name for a 1955 show car, but Willys used the Falcon name for one their series names for the Aero in 1952-54. Other names Willys used were Wing, Ace, Lark and Eagle. Willys also built the Falcon-Knight in 1927-28.
