Jay, My Hollander Interchange Manuals covering years 1954-1966 show that (a) front & rear are different and (b) there's "early" and "late" part #'s. EARLY 1964: Front: Part # 2401546-7, 11" x 3" drums Same brake drum from Early 1963 up thru 1964 car serial # 9243-109791 and 9343-109791 Rear: Part # 2401542-3, also 11" x 3", but it says "br." After this one. No clue what that stands for. Same brake drum from Early 1963 up thru 1964 car serial # 9243-109791 and 9343-109791. LATE 1964: Front: part # 2530130-1, "11 x 3 Br. Flared drum" Same brake drum from '64 after S/N 9243-109791 and 9343-109791 all the way through 1966. Rear: Part #2530132-3 11X3 Br. (again, no clue what "Br" means) Same brake drum from '64 after S/N 9243-109791 and 9343-109791 all the way through 1966. I do not know if there's any reason you couldn't use an "early" drum on a "late" Imperial or vice versa. No clue as to whether the backing plate changed. It might just be that the "late" ones are the "improved" one once they finally got the brake drum factory up & going to production speed and that the drums are interchangeable from early/late. You're on your own to figure that one out. :-D Hope that helps. ==Brooks in Dallas -----Original Message----- From: mailing-list-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mailing-list-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of JAY D'ANGELO Sent: Friday, November 11, 2005 1:25 PM To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: IML: HELP!!!! 64 IML BRAKE DRUMS My car is on the rack for an expensive brake job, but the drums are too far out to turn.
