paul, thanks for the only reply i got about this 
problem. i just did a full brake job and i too thought
the grabbing was in the rear brakes. however when i
had someone else move the car it was obvious it was
the parking brake. when i back off the star wheel in
the park brake the problem goes away.there seems to be
some adjustment where the cable goes into the drum but
there is no info in the repair manual about it. it all
looks like it should operate so simple and that is why
this is so difficult to figure out. my next step is to
try to have the drum cut so i will know if it is out
of round.  dennis  53 custom, 54 windsor convert
