If I remember correctly, "The Car" was based on a customized mid '70's
Lincoln (new at the time), and the work was done in George Barris' shop. I
think they used two or three for the movie. No Duesenberg or Imperial.

I just read the article about the '66 Duesenberg and
then Googled for more info.
It would appear that they used one in the movie The
Car - If that's not it it sure has similar looks. Does
anyone know?
