IML: LA pump - what it is

The LA pump you mention is simply a small block - 318 or 360 most likely -
oil pump. They are commonly referred to as the LA series of engines. I am
only somewhat familiar with Tex Smiths book on this, but I would also
suggest you get a copy of the what used to be called Mopar Performance, not
sure now, book on the Hemi as well. Its information FROM CHRYSLER about
what one can do to modify various parts as well as the complete engines. Who
better to get the information from, as well as to supplement the other book
you have. I would presume they are talking about stuff like high volume oil
pumps, fully grooved bearings , oil filter conversions or remote filters
and things of that nature.
