Imperial question
I don't blame you about such a drive in the heat...if you are ever in
town we all hang out at Bob's Big Boy Friday nights in Toluca lake.....anyone
email me if you will be around town and I will cruise on over to met
you...
Ok....all gentlemen reading....clips....all these years since owning
1956 Imperial Southamptons I have never found clips.....the clips that
hold in the power window button in...
front and back.....also clips for the outside chrome/stainless
steel....every time someone works on anything they break the clips...
Next...I had the cars wiring redone...wiring harness...they lost{the dumb
asses} the little plastic lense for the light over the wonderbar
radio.....anyone have a spare????
I got the car painted in and out...picked it up and they snapped the door
handle in half...
I found one but can the pot medal be fixed???? I have several broken the
same way....
When I came home I noticed all the buttons for the radio were
missing....
I rushed back as they were closing the doors....no one knew anything of
coarse....but I refused to leave till I found my buttons....Who traced them
down....me.....
As the idiots were looking in the shop I climbed inside the trash
dumpster as I saw my papers with my paint on them....
Were they in there????? You bet they were....all Stuck to the paper at
the very bottom of the trash...needless to say I was madder than a wet
hornet....if I hadn't done that the dumpster would be emptied first thing in
the morning and they would be gone forever...
Taking my car anywhere has been nightmares...you have to be one step
ahead of all of them....
Next....for the sedan{southampton} the front passenger door always opens
by itself....
I click that little round thing in the door and it shuts for the time
being but pops open driving...
I am scared a passenger will fly out of the door as I peel rubber around
a curve....
any solutions to fix that???? hee hee hee

Anne,
www.imperialclub.com has to
be one of the most comprehensive web sites without an institutional
or commercial sponsor. Nearly all Imperial related information in
existence can be found there or linked to from there!
I'm in Bakersfield, but with the high temps this week and
predicted to rise even higher this weekend, I won't be abusing the midnight
cruiser going over the grapevine.

Anne,
You are talking about the LA parade phaeton, which
is actually a 1952 that was updated by the factory in
1955. http://www.imperialclub.com/Rare/Phaetons/1950s/article.htm It is an open car, but can't be considered a
convertible since it doesn't have a top at all. It is one of
three, originally residing in New York City, Chicago and Los
Angeles. I believe the Chicago car made it's way to a museum in Las
Vegas.
