I was at the wonderful Woodies on the Wharf show on the pier in Santa Cruz, Calif., last month. This got me wondering if there was ever a woody Imperial. The club president says you can display the car if it has "structural wood", as opposed to decorative wood or paneling/lining of areas encased by metal body panels. Sooo..... The 1926 Imperial brochure says the bodies are "pressed steel over rigid hardwood frame" -- is that or is it not structural wood? And how long did this go on until the bodies were all steel? Oh, before I forget, here's a link to photos of the show. There were about 200 cars, lots of brands starting with F, L, B, C and O. A few VWs and some miscellaneous. I took photos of the Mopars and a Packard(!). http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/desperate_not_serious/album?.dir=1447 Happy motoring, David ----------------- http://www.imperialclub.com ----------------- This message was sent to you by the Imperial Mailing List.
