Re: IML: ?Au ?Contraire!/ Multi Taillight Rings on '59 LeBaron

I finally got to read some of my email. When I came upon the single/double rings story on the 59 LeBaron, I needed to tell the short reason for them.
Starting with the first 59 LeBaron, the rings were of the single ring style. This went till serial #100199 in the sedan and serial #100175 in the hardtop, no post and were part #'s: 1810610, 1810611, 1810612, 1810613.
Then serial #100199 to #100320 in the sedan and serial #100175 to #100327 in the hardtop had ring #'s: 1690828, 1690829, 169320, 169321.
   Then the double ringed cars were after serial #'s: 100310 in the sedan and # 100327 in the hardtop.  These part #'s were: 2093144, 2093145, 2093146, 2093147, 1690828, 1690829, 1690830 and 169031.
This tells us that the LeBaron had actually 3 different sets of combinations on the rings.
I have at car shows in the past, checked serial #'s and found some, but a few, had changed them to "update" their car as they wanted the more stylish or common ring set. Spears are listed as the same on all 59 Imperials. And, they are all the same size.
If you have a 59 parts book and want to check on this, it is group # 23-23-39. Each ring has a specific spot in the various combinations and do not interchange positions.
Hope this clears up all the confusion the rings have caused in the past. Joe Machado, previous owner of a 59 double ringed LeBaron sedan.
ps, I am about to retire and have about 15 cars to sell and 6 are Imperials, some as parts cars and some that are very restorable. Years as follows, 59, 61, 62, 63, and 2 68's. One 68 is a conv. Only one runs, a 61 Crown 2 door.
