Plugged exhaust is a good suggestion. One thing to consider is that the timing might be off because the balancer slips. It's never happened to me (knock wood, it probably will tomorrow), but the rubber on the balancer can slip causing the timing marks to be way off and the timing will be off when set to factory specs. IF the car is running well you can probably discount this,

No catalytic converter on this one.  But the muffler
or pipes could be plugged.  I'll check.

Timing was just set at factory spec, so I rule that
out.
