From decades ago, I recall that I could substantially improve the windowspeed by adjusting a screw on the motor assembly that adjusts the play in what I'll call the worm shaft for lack of a better term. I undid the locknut, backed off the screw and then retightened it jusst until the window operation slowed.

Took about one full afternoon since the service manual didn't seem quite accurate about it and I muddled along, also had gotten some advice from another list member who had done it recently, can't recall who though.
