The big deal and most extravagant feature of the facelifted 1961 through 1963 models was that the front clip is all connected as a solid unit. It wraps around the front of the car from the edge of one front door to the other, instead of being bolted together in separate pieces as the 1960 model. This was also carried through on the '64 through '66 models, as it was considered to be giant advantage over the competition for solid construction. The disadvantage is that a "back yard mechanic" cannot easily replace a front fender. Paul W.
