This weekend I ran my first vintage car rally/race. Unfortuately I forgot my camera but a lot of the cars also run the Great Race and you can see them at http://www.greatrace.com My '68 Olds 88 ran flawlessly but I'd like to get my '55 Imperial ready for the fall - it'd definitely be one of the most attractive cars there amid 40s Fords and such. One problem I have to solve is the speedometer (odometers are not used on these events). It has two problems, one being wildly optimistic (about 20 MPH too high) and the other a huge amount of needle wiggle. Both of these make it unuseable as is and I figure I need, at minimum, to replace the speedo unit, odo cable, and (I hope not) the speedo gear in the transmission. Does anyone have any observations on the problem and/or any help for these parts. adTHANKSvance, Norm -- "The web has got me caught.
