If anyone was following my adventure in power windows, here's the latest. The new Siemens window motors will not fit my LeBaron's rear doors. Well, technically they fit the door, but they interfere with the window travel. The gear drive section of the motor is a little thicker than the original motor, and this wants to occupy the same space the window guide passes through. I returned two of the Siemens motors and ordered a pair of reman motors for the back doors. The front clears just fine since the motor is located below the vent window in a nice open area. The adventure isn't a total loss however. The driver's rear window was loose, and I needed to take a look at it anyway. Well, the glass is only being held on the right hand side (leading edge of the glass) where it looks like the vertical trim is crimped to the horizontal piece the glass sits in. Does anyone know how the glass was originally held in place? I was thinking windshield adhesive would do the trick. Somebody definitely had their hands in this door before. The openings to access the inner door are somewhat mangled where the window regulator and motor came out before. It also looks like somebody tried epoxying the glass to the channel sometime in the car's past.
