Clint, Laurie,
You may also want to check with Gary Goers, who makes all rubber parts for our Imperials. He made the weather stripping you speak of, and the actual retaining strips for me on my ’60 vert when I bought it. It took about 3 months to get, but they did finally arrive, and were a perfect fit. Of course the windows themselves were crooked, but that’s another fix.
Here is Gary’s link: http://www.garygoers.com/Order/order.html
Or you can write him for a catalog. Send $4.00 to Gary at:

Good luck!

Hello list, I got in the '65 Crown Coupe AFTER a rain storm the other day, and discovered that the leaking problem inside the car is actually coming from around the SIDE windows, not the windshield and back glass as I had understood from the previous owner. All around the track where the top of each side window fits is some hard rubber weather stripping. That, I would guess, is NOT supposed to be that hard. Thus - leak city. Anybody else have this problem? I need to get the leaks stopped before I go ahead with any interior projects. Like new carpeting. And re upholstering the front leather seats.
Thanks for saving us from drowning inside this car, Clint and Laurie Carter '65 Crown Coupe (ours) '59 Crown (also ours) |
