IML: Show Room Body Tag

I've recently seen a separate metal tag affixed to the body code data plate 
on the firewall of a '56 Imperial that says 'Show Room'.  Does anyone have 
the particulars as to what this meant for the car? Special attention to 
finish work like wet sanding or trim alignment? I know we covered this with 
a 70's Imperial a few months ago, but I don't recall mention of earlier 
cars.
