The shop I had 'er rodded out at said mine "wasn't too bad", but before I did it, 'twas all I could do to get back to Knoxville from Atlanta last Thursday w/o overheating (was OK around town, only o-heated on the highway). Runs cool as a cucumber now on the highway OR back roads, with the freshly rodded radiator and a 180 deg. thermostat... A bit warmer on the highway but perfectly acceptable. Another thought: the impeller in your water pump might be no good. First thought, though, is get the radiator rodded out. Your radiator may be clogged. Or more likely, if the overheating happened during idle, the fan clutch may have given up. I presume the water pump belt is nice and tight. D^2, that had another water pump belt go at 4500 rpm, 2nd gear (90 mph) Quoting Eric Nelson <ericnelson424@xxxxxxxxxxx>: > Hi, > > I just bought a 1967 Imperial Crown.
