RE: IML: car starts when it wants

What happens if you let it cool off between starts? Does it improve and 
start, or does it get worse? If the car will restart after it cools off 
(like mine) then you can rule out the charging system.  Otherwise, that's 
where I'd start looking.  Verify the alternator is working properly, etc.

The mini-starter is better because it is a more efficient modern design.  
The starter is one of the few areas where a GM/Ford guy can insult a Mopar 
man. The mini-starter doesn't make the traditional mopar sound and is 
stronger. It's also half the size and weight, which is nice when you're 
lying on your back trying to squeeze it past the exhaust.  I've never put 
one on a big block, but I know people who have.  I think you have to take 
the plastic electrical connectors off.  The mancini racing version I got had 
big block instructions, but you could go cheap and just get one off JY 
Dakota.
