Re: IML: signal flasher

The way a flasher works is by resistance in the circuit. It has to have all the bulbs connected and operating in order to get enough resistance to trip the flasher, very similar to a circuit breaker. I would look at the socket for the bulb. It could be corroded badly enough that it doesn't make a connection to the bulb contacts. You can check it (CAREFULLY!) with a meter or test light. Use a sleeve on the lead to keep from grounding it on the socket wall. Also, you could just have bad bulbs.

Subject: IML: signal flasher

1963 Imperial LeBaron

Left turn signal works properly.
Right turn signal:
-Dashboard indicator bulb stays lit solid.
-Tailight signal bulb stays lit solid.
-Front right turn signal bulb does not light up.
--Switched out bulb with new one. same problem.

does anyone know what I can try to diagnose this problem?
Also, does the 1963 Le Baron come with a hazard flasher switch?
