Our '64 has the whole enchilada in the rear (except the compressor of
course). Yep, it get plenty COLD!
According to the invoice, which I have, it was a whopping $777.75 option, a
lot of loot in 1964! But the reverberator was only $37.65 ;o)

I don't know about this particular car, but I do know that many folks see
the "rear air" switch on the instrument panel and assume that this means the
car has rear AC. In fact, most such cars have just the rear blower, not the
whole rear refrigeration system. Both of my 68s have "rear air" but it is
just the rear blower. I can't see why anyone would have spent the extra
money for dual air, because the standard front AC system is far more than
adequate to keep all 6 passengers quite comfortable in any weather - I live
in the desert, so I can attest to that!
This is similar to the common misconception that the 67-68 AM-FM search tune
radio is a "Stereo" radio. In fact, if it is a factory search tune car, it
is NOT a stereo installation.
