Yes, I have the FSM. I have not read that section. Did not take very long to find the speedo after I saw the fluid running everywhere. Just wanted to make sure that there were not some tricks that are not  in the FSM.

I think it is time for you to consult the Factory Service Manual. There is a lot of detail on how to adjust that cable.
