all the heads will interchange on the rb motors. The early 413's had
pedestal mounts for the rocker arm shafts and the later rb's had the rocker arm
shaft mounts cast into the head. Early #2406516 closed chamber heads were
about 73cc and the 68 #2843906 and later heads were open chamber, about
88cc. The 906's and later 452 heads had 2.08 intake and 1.74 exhaust
valves and flow better than the 516's which had 2.08 intake and 1.60 exhaust
valves, although the 516's gave more compression for more power. At
reasonable rpm's they're a wash. Over 5000 rpm, the larger valved heads
win out. The super scarce max wedge heads #2463209, had 2.08/1.88 valves
and required the bored to be notched so the exhaust valve didn't hit it.
In 67, Mopar came out with a 440 hp head, #2780915, closed chamber with the
2.08/1.74 valves. Best of both worlds - closed chamber and bigger
valves. They were made only one year for the GTX, but some cam be found in
other 67 Chryslers.
Good luck with your project! Joe R.
