On the 72/73 Imperials the cowl drain hole can be found underneath the plastic grill In front of the windshield. First you have to remove the lower wind shield moulding (just 5 screws) and then take out this grill. Removal of the wiper arms is convenient but not necessary. The drain hole is located near the pivot of the wiper motor. I guess this is the same for all fuselage Imp's..

I doubt though if a plugged drain hole causes your leakage. In both my Imperials the wind shield itself was leaking pretty badly. Easy enough to check by letting a family member spray the car (with a garden hose;-)) while you are inside. If your wind shield is the culprit, it has to be taken out completely and reglued.

Hello everybody!

   

     My LeBaron develops a puddle (you can almost swim in it) on the passenger floor. I know it is not the heater coil as everyone has been talking about because it only happens when it rains. The heavier the rain the bigger the puddle. My best theory is the cowl drain hole is plugged. The fsm says, "...in the bottom of cowl plenum chamber..."  and I can't find it. So, I guess my question is: How do I get to it and where is it located?

     Any help will be appreciated so I can have a dry floor before I install new carpet.
