Hi

Had the same situation in my 1955 Sedan. Looped the heater hose and have no
more problem. Usually no use for a heater in sunny, SO CA anyway.

the heater diaphram, or whatever the terminology is for the piece inside the
car under the dash, that the fan blows over to give you heat in the winter..
this pice has a small leak.  The heat in the car generates water vapor, or
steam, and it has a smell that could be confused with electrical, but is a
little closer to radiator fluid..
