Re: IML: '60 in Germany, More than meets the eye!!!!

One thing he does have that I would love to own and perhaps he can swap me out plus give him a few hundred to boot are the four Lebaron Hub caps! I have the crown Hub caps and have been desperately searching for what he has. Does anyone know where I might find 4 of these?? I am willing to pay between $50 to $75 per hub cap depending on condition.

PS.........I think this is a hardtop not a sedan. Look at the back window.

Many Thanks,

I believe that the VIN number starts with different numbers for each series. That would tell you for sure.  The nameplate on the glovebox will read Le Baron instead of Imperial which would be on the Custom & Crown series.

OK everyone, Having a 1960 "LeCrown" and a 1960 "CroBaron", I consider myself the authority on mixed up '60 imperials.  I have both a 1960 LeBaron, and a 1960 Crown.  The Crown had dealer installed LeBaron emblems while my LeBaron has a custom ordered full leather interior in white, a Crown interior that is factory installed.  Both cars are documented original.  This German car is different yet.  It is a 4-dr. sedan, clearly visible in the exterior and interior shot.  Here is the kicker.  It not only has exterior LeBaron emblems but has LeBaron door panels on the interior.  I can see the door emblems as well as the LeBarons' horizontil pleats in the lower door panel.  What I am not seeing is the LeBaron emblem on the trunk lid.  That pretty much convinces me that this car had the front fenders swapped, or the emblems, and the interior as well.  It is my best guess that we are looking at a 1960 Crown sedan with misc LeBaron parts.  The tail light rings are missing as well. Would love to see larger pictures and more interior detail but think I have come to the correct conclusion.
