My 69 does the exact same thing. I know it has a
multiplex unit, but don't think that is why. I had another 69 in 1972 & as I
recall, the fader worked in the traditional way. Not
from opposite corners.
Dick B. seems to have a lot of

Any chance you hooked up the wires at your new connector
backwards (in other words, swapped the left and right rear speaker leads)?
Seems like the easy place to fix 'em, too, rather than rewiring under the
