I am always pleased to see a LeBaron like this. Recall some time back there was one for sale in Alberta. I am doing a complete restoration on a '59 LeBaron FDHT (deep ruby and almost fully optioned....it has no auto pilot for one). I offer these comments on the eBay car: 1. The car has a number of options missing (e.g. A/C, auto pilot, hood ornament, passenger side exterior mirror and auto dimming lights. There may be other things missing such as sure grip) 2. The LeBaron insignia on the trunk lid is missing and the holes for it are filled in. Last paint job? 3. The chrome around the electric seat switch appears pitted as does the chrome on the seat (or is this just the way the picture looks?). 4. Note how the glove box is out of alignment in the dash. 5. "Optional" 15" wheels! The early 1959's started with 14" wheels and the cars built later had 15". This car was the 386th built so it may have had 14" rims to begin with. 6. The carpet on the back of the front seats is a different color than the floor carpet. On mine the carpet was the same. Can anyone comment on the "correctness"? Maybe they are both correct? 7. Paul was correct re: the emblem at the front of the LeBaron insignia. The one shown is incorrect. 8. Only 2 LeBarons with a silvercrest roof??? Dead wrong. This one, the Alberta one and mine have this option and I have seen pictures of many others. 9. Notwithstanding anything above it is a beautiful car! My car was to be completed by now (completion dates were May 1/04 and then revised to August 31/04) and it is disappointing that it is not. I do not have the latest one as it may only mean the same thing as the other two. Not all the blame can be pinned on the Restoration Shop. I will just keep at it and maybe soon.......
