Paul/Neal:
Ah, now that you have opened that can of worms, I have one to add. I
just had this discussion with my husband the other day, only it was regarding
the power swivel seat option which costs double on a custom 1959 like me, well
over $200.00, where as it is about $120.00 on the Crown...why? Neal has
exact figures on this, they went out to the list last week, and that is what
brought the question up in my mind. My custom has all but two options, it
is missing the air suspension, and rear air only. I am amazed that someone
would pay so much more money to build a custom. However, it may have
been a wash since the cost of the Crown was more to begin with, right?
Maybe it worked out better, or about the same to get a better optioned custom
than a base Crown model? I don't know, maybe Neal does.
And Paul, you mentioned shields and griffins in your last email. My
rings have the griffin emblems, as do my door panels.

ornament on eBay!?
Very cool Neal!
Now I have a question for the list. Why
would the Mirror-matic option cost $4.00 more on a Custom than on a Crown or
LeBaron? Maybe if I owned a '59, the answer to this would be obvious. Not
owning one, it seems inconceivable that there would be any difference
installing this mirror in any of the three series, unless the regular mirror
wasn't standard on '59 Customs in the first place. It was included as standard
equipment in later years.

ornament or side rearview mirror, but I was able to pick them up from a parts
car back in 1989 for $30.00. I'm Glad I bought them when I

Ebay item in question, I read remarks written to the seller by someone (was it
you Neal?) who said that this hood ornament was an optional hood ornament. Is
this true? > >After reading that I was compelled to dig for a

hood ornament. I am also wondering if there are any more unusual options that
are not commonly known about. I didn't see anything in my Imperial brochures
on the hood ornament, so are there any other fun little known about optional
equipment? I am very interested. > >Thanks in advance.
