Multi-Elmac was a line of Amateur Radio gear in the years after WWII. I'm
not finding references to the "TF" designation. But, they had a popular line
of transmitters and receivers, the AF54 and PMR6. They had external power
supplies and required 6V @ 6A or 12V @3A, AC for the filametns. I wonder if
the device you're looking at is a vibrator unit for operation of one of
these devices?

Is there any evidence of antenna mounts on the car? Many Hams didn't spend a
lot of time patching up holes after removing their radio gear (including me
:-) ).
