Check the neutral safety switch. To do this make sure that the car is in neutral, use a jumper between the brown wire terminal (with the brown wire connected to the terminal) on the starter relay, and the negative terminal of the battery. BE CAREFUL BECAUSE NOW THE CAR WILL START EVEN IF IT IS IN GEAR AND LURCH! With the nuetral button pushed in, try to start the car. If is starts, then the problem is the neutral safety switch. It is screwed into the left side of the transmission, and is easy to change. This switch has gone out on both of my '60's and the '63.
