Kick panel Question

Hello IMLers;

 

Have a question about the hard plastic kick panels in our Imperials. How can you

fix nicks and deep scratches in this material? I know it can be covered with vinyl spray, but is

there a way to get the nicks and scratch out with some over the counter product that would

fill these in and then use the vinyl spray over that?
