selling a car

Yes, this scam has been covered many times. I tell them straight out, I Will Not accept a check for more than the amount of the item. Then, I will deposit it in the named bank, even if it is not my bank name. I tell them I am suspicious of it and wait for them to check it out directly. I do not deposit it in my bank if it is a different bank. It will and did take 5 months to come back once as a no funds account. The buyer kept emailing me that he really needed the money to be sent so as to cover some BS he had going.
The usual drill is pics needed, specific condition, more pics and more details. These are too short and to the point. They never really spend enough time getting more and more accurate info on a car, or any other item for that matter. It has every indication to be a scam, but on a smaller scale. My favorites are the ones in the millions. Well duh, who is gonna trust anyone with millions? In God we trust, all others cash! Joe Machado
